The last in person Project Meeting of the CIRCLE project (Circular Innovation and Resilient City Labs in the Adrion region) took place in Thessaloniki and was organized by ANATOLIKI SA (project partner), on October 12th, 2022, at the Research Dissemination Center, with hybrid attendance.
The project CIRCLE (Circular Innovation and Resilient City Labs in the Adrion Region) is co-financed by the Interreg V-B Adriatic-Ionian ADRION Programme. The partnership of the project consists of 14 partners from 8 countries of the Adriatic Sea basin (Italy, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Albania). ANATOLIKI SA participates in the project as a partner and the Municipalities of Thermi and Kalamaria as associate partners.
The aim of the CIRCLE project is to encourage cooperations between Municipalities, waste management companies, research centers and development institutions in order to create Innovative City Labs for sustainable waste management and for the adoption of circular economy practices. The project will be completed in December 2022.
The results of CIRCLE implementation were discussed during the Meeting, while particular emphasis was placed on the CIRCLab workshops that took place in all partner countries. Through these workshops, examples and especially innovative models of waste management emerged, for which their pilot action was presented in selected urban areas of the Adriatic. The participants were invited to evaluate the 4 pilot actions, for the 4 different thematics (industrial symbiosis, organic waste, waste of electrical and electronic equipment, constructions and demolitions waste).
The CIRCLE project will be completed with the international open conference, which will take place Online in December 2022.
