The MedSeaRise project participated in the ADRIBIOPRO Conference!

The MedSeaRise project participated in the 3rd International Conference about Adriatic Biodiversity Protection-ADRIBIOPRO 2024, in Kotor, Montenegro! The Conference was organized from October 1-4, 2024, by the University of Montenegro and the Institute of Marine Biology.

MedSeaRise had a specific role in the event, as the partnership organized a Workshop (2/10/2024) inviting experts to witness the first results of the project and share their expertise on issues related to factors that affect sea level rise in the Adriatic Sea, and in the Mediterranean in general. Several scientific studies were presented during the workshop, as climate change scenarios for effective adaptations, trends of marine environmental indicators and impacts on rising sea levels, the role of river release on those topics and effects of temperature and sea level rise on ecosystems. Those scientific studies were thoroughly documented by the MedSeaRise partnership to be considered during the next steps of the project and the elaboration of the Methodology for the proper use of sea level trends and data for the different classes and impacts of sea level rise.

During the 3rd of October, the partnership of MedSeaRise organized a project meeting at the premises of the Institute of Marine Biology in order to discuss the next steps of the project, the elaboration of sea level rise case studies in each one of the partner countries and the discussion about the dissemination, engagement of stakeholders and proper communication of scientific results to the policy-makers and to the general public.
