Successful Completion of Awareness and Training Actions on Sustainable Tourism within the Erasmus+ SusTourTraining Project

A series of awareness and training actions on Sustainable Tourism were successfully completed within the framework of the European co-funded Erasmus+ project SusTourTraining, implemented by ANATOLIKI S.A., in collaboration with educational and institutional partners.

On Friday, 12 December 2025, an online event on Sustainable Tourism was held in cooperation with IEK DELTA 360. The main objective of the event was to present the results of the SusTourTraining project achieved so far, as well as to exchange views and best practices on key issues of sustainable development in tourism. Special emphasis was placed on the blue economy and marine tourism, sectors that play a crucial role in the sustainable development of local communities.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion and creative workshops, in which participants played an active role by sharing experiences and proposals.

A few days later, on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, ANATOLIKI S.A. implemented the second training activity of the project at the premises of the Experimental SAEC of Tourism of Macedonia, in Peraia, Thessaloniki. The opening of the training was accompanied by welcome speeches from Ms. Vasiliki Rapti, lecturer at the school, and Mr. Ioannis Eleftheriadis, project manager.

This was followed by a presentation of the project and the MOOC-type educational material, with a focus on the principles of sustainable tourism and practical tools for their implementation. An open discussion then took place, moderated by Ms. Naya Tselepi, while the training process included an evaluation quiz, participant grouping, and experiential activities, focusing on an in-depth understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Tourism professionals, trainers, and students participated in the activities, contributing to a meaningful and productive dialogue on contemporary challenges and future prospects of sustainable tourism. Participants’ response was highly positive, highlighting the growing need and willingness to integrate sustainable practices into everyday professional activities.

The SusTourTraining project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, started on 01/09/2023, and has a total duration of 27 months.
