Renia Gkountiou

Production and Management Engineer, MSc

Renia Gkountiou is a Production and Management Engineer with an MSc in Industrial Digitalisation from Manchester Metropolitan University.

She has experience in the design, implementation and management of European and co-funded programmes aimed at fostering innovation, sustainable development and the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. She specialises in additive manufacturing (3D printing), digital design and prototype development, supporting businesses and organisations in their transition towards the digital and green economy.

Through her involvement in European and national projects at Aston University, she has contributed to the implementation of actions that promote innovation and sustainable development, with a particular focus on the needs of the local and regional economy.

In 2023, she was awarded the “Female Innovator of the Year” distinction at the Innovation Awards, in recognition of her contribution to innovation and the promotion of gender equality in STEM.
