Online Learning Event for the exchange of experiences and sharing Best Practices related to Circular Design

The online Learning Event of the DESICE project took place on 7/11/2024. Representatives from partner organizations from Greece, Romania, Belgium, Italy and Lithuania met online in order to share experiences regarding the implementation of the project during the 1st Semester, share experiences and insights about Good Practices related to circular design.

Specifically, the meeting had 3 main points:

  1. Exchange information about the stakeholders engaged in the DESICE project from each country. The general profile of stakeholders engaged in partner regions up to now include academic institutions and master’s degree programs related (mostly related to industrial and graphic design, product design and architecture departments), public authorities (regional and local policy makers and representatives, Ministries and public sectoral bodies) and private SMEs (as graphic design studios, CCI groups and professionals and NGOs related to circular economy).
  2.  Share insights about Good Practices that were shared during the stakeholder group meeting of the 1st Semester. An interesting outcome of the meeting is that partners already identified several interesting good practices related to circular design as the circular maker accelerator program of the SKG MAKERS from Greece, the Design Wings, VIVISTOP Uzupis and Circuloop initiatives from Lithuania, the Film Fest Gent initiative from Belgium along with the circular restaurant that is operating in the premises of ECEF, the Upside Down initiative for creative recycling from Romania and the Demetra Formazione, the Design for Sustainable temporary event staging and the Material Landscapes studies of the University of Ferrara from Italy.
  3. Share insights about Policy Improvements discussed during the stakeholder group meetings. Through the collection of Good Practices related to circular design, the DESICE partners will try to influence policy makers in order to replicate and adjust existing good examples and proceed to policy improvements in the participating regions.

During the next period, the partnership will evaluate the Good Practices already identified in each region and proceed to their detailed description and presentation in order to share them with relevant stakeholders and interested parties. Please stay tuned for further information!
