ANATOLIKI S.A. was present in the Livadi Forest of the Municipality of Thermi for the replacement of the batteries of the TREE TALKERS devices, within the framework of the Interreg IPA ADRION project “ARCA – Artificial Intelligence platform to prevent Climate change natural hAzards”. The innovative TREE TALKERS devices, which operate using Internet of Things (IoT) technology, had been installed in October 2025 in the Livadi Forest, which serves as a study area for the project.
On May 12 and 20, 2026, the first battery replacement of the devices was carried out under the supervision of officials from the Thessaloniki Forest Directorate, Τhe replacement process was carried out by representatives from the Deputy Mayor’s Office for Civil Protection of the Municipality of Thermi. Also participating in the replacement procedures were ANATOLIKI associates involved in the project, Naya Tselepi and Eleni Iordanidou.
In total, the batteries of fifteen (15) Cyber devices and fifteen (15) Fire devices were replaced, while an assessment of the devices’ condition was also carried out, along with the recording of any damage or deterioration caused by branches.
These “smart” sensors collect eco-physiological measurements of trees, such as temperature, humidity and growth data, providing valuable information for assessing forest health and supporting the prevention of natural hazards, such as wildfires.
This activity contributes to ensuring the proper operation of this equipment and to the continuation of data collection for the prevention and management of natural hazards related to climate change.
