Interreg IPA ADRION ARCA: First Drone Flight & Maintenance Works on TREE TALKERS Devices in Livadi Forest

On 30 July 2026, ANATOLIKI S.A. carried out field activities in the Livadi Forest of the Municipality of Thermi as part of the Interreg IPA ADRION project “ARCA – Artificial Intelligence platform to prevent Climate change natural hAzards”. The activities focused on the aerial mapping of the forest area and the maintenance of the TREE TALKERS devices.

The field activities were carried out by ANATOLIKI S.A. project team members Naya Tselepi and Eleni Iordanidou, with the support of ANATOLIKI S.A. collaborator Mr. Triantafyllos Bouchounas. Representatives of the Thessaloniki Forest Service and the Civil Protection Department of the Municipality of Thermi were also present during the activities.

As part of the field mission, the first unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) flight was conducted to map the Livadi forest area. The aerial survey captured the wider area where the TREE TALKERS devices have been installed, as well as the forest area affected by the wildfire of 23 July 2026, contributing to the update of field data and the monitoring of the site’s condition. In parallel, an on-site inspection of the operational condition of the TREE TALKERS devices was carried out, including the recording of any damage and the replacement of their batteries. The field activities were successfully completed, ensuring the continuous operation of the sensor network and the uninterrupted collection of data to support the prevention and management of natural hazards related to climate change.
