The city of Bologna, Italy, hosted on 24 and 25 May the final event of the Interreg Euro-MED REPair PERspective (REPper) project and the third Repair Festival organised within the framework of the project. The two-day programme was organised by the lead partner, the Metropolitan City of Bologna, and marked the culmination of 33 months of collaboration among 10 partners from 8 Mediterranean countries, aimed at promoting the repair economy and circular economy principles.
The first day featured the Repair Festival, combining panel discussions with experts from various organisations and countries, and hands-on repair workshops. From Greece, the project partners represented at the meeting were Ms. Ioanna Kouti and Mr. Tasos Chatzieleftheriou from ANATOLIKI S.A., as well as representatives of the FODSA Central Macedonia. In addition, representatives of organisations that collaborated with the project partners during implementation also took part; specifically, Evgenia Karapatsiou from DIADYMA S.A. and Rachil Salonikidou, a secondary education teacher, participated in the panel discussions.
The day opened with a presentation of the project’s results, during which Ioanna Kouti, ANATOLIKI S.A. presented the methodology and outcomes of REPper FACTORY, namely the comprehensive training package developed for trainers, as well as the results of the pilot training activities implemented across the eight participating countries under the coordination of ANATOLIKI SA. The discussions continued with two further panels — one focusing on good practices in the field of repair and one on the repair economy. This was followed by three hands-on repair workshops (bicycles, textiles and small electrical appliances), open to the general public, while the day concluded with live painting and live music, celebrating repair as a creative and cultural act.
The second day began with a study visit by the partners to the Bologna REPper HUB, hosted at the premises of CIOFS-FP, a vocational education and training organisation. During the visit, partners were given a tour of the facilities, received an overview of the HUB’s activities, and took part in a hands-on repair activity alongside CIOFS students. The day concluded with the final in-person meeting of the partners at the offices of the Metropolitan City of Bologna, where the overall results were presented and the next steps were discussed.
The project is co-funded by the European Union with a total budget of €2,517,740 and a duration of 33 months. More information: www.repper.interreg-euro-med.eu | Greek Repair HUB: https://anatoliki.gr/repper/
