The Organization for Local Develpment – ANATOLIKI S.A., represented by Mr. Charalampos Vasiliadis (Project Manager) and Mr. Ioannis Eleftheriadis (Project Team Member), in collaboration with a team consisting of an adult trainer (Ms. Genovefa Manousaridou), representatives of the Open University of Thessaloniki (Ms. Anna Aivalioti), and the Municipality of Thessaloniki (Mr. Fotis Papastefanou), was hosted by the BSC organization as part of the SusTourTraining project from December 9 to 12, 2024, in the city of Kranj, Slovenia.

The meeting aimed to co-develop educational material with the input and suggestions of the trainers. The thematic focus of the material includes adult education in sustainable tourism, covering topics such as:

  • Fundamental principles of sustainable tourism
  • Business management
  • Marketing & communication
  • Practical tools

On December 9, the project’s partnership meeting was held, dedicated to the next steps in project development, the structure of the educational material, communications, and each partner’s conclusions about the progress made thus far.

During the training sessions held over the next three days, targeted and comprehensive presentations focused on the creation of high-quality and innovative teaching material. Subsequently, through specially designed workshops, participants had the opportunity to collaborate closely with trainers from diverse professional backgrounds. The exchange of views, discussions, and practical application of ideas in this dynamic environment aimed to achieve optimal results in both the design and application of the educational material.

Simultaneously, Mr. Tomaž Lanišek, a representative of the Municipality of Kranj, presented the innovative CeKr city card. This pioneering prepaid card combines payments with access to public services in Kranj, Slovenia.

The card enables:

  • Payments on both local and global levels.
  • Access to public services such as libraries, transportation, bike rentals, and parking.
  • Participation in cultural activities. Additionally, it offers discounts for sustainable practices, enhancing citizens’ ecological awareness.
