On September 4, 2025, ANATOLIKI S.A. organized a workshop, within the framework of the Interreg Europe PROACTsme project. The session focused on the exchange of the good practice ‘Help Empresa’ of CECOT, Catalonia, to the Region of Central Macedonia (RCM), which is the authority responsible for policy change within the project framework by integrating this good practice.
The workshop was online and was attended by representatives of ANATOLIKI S.A., Ms. Naya Tselepi, Project Manager, and Ms. Eleni Iordanidou, Communication Manager, a representative of the RCM, Ms. Evdokia Maggou, and two representatives of CECOT, Ms. Laura Sallent, Director of the service, and Mr. David Pomés, Coordinator of Help Empresa.
The aim of the session was to present ‘Help Empresa’ as good practice in supporting SMEs through early warning tools, advisory services and digital solutions as well as integrating the service by the RCM, within the context of SMEs in Central Macedonia.
Laura Sallent, director of the service, explained Cecot’s role as a business association and the European regulatory framework, particularly Directive 2019/1023, which encourages early warning mechanisms to prevent insolvency. David Pomés, HelpEmpresa coordinator, detailed the service’s methodology: self-assessment, professional diagnosis, and three possible business paths (consolidation and growth, restructuring, or orderly closure). He also emphasized the importance of the expert network and shared impact figures: more than 1,200 companies supported in four years, mostly SMEs and self-employed workers. Alongside HelpEmpresa, Cecot also introduced Reempresa, a service that promotes business transfer as an alternative to closure, allowing entrepreneurs to acquire existing businesses and continue their activity.
Representatives of ANATOLIKI and the RCM raised questions shaped during previous discussions that had taken place with the Thessaloniki Chambers, during the month of June 2025. These focused on ways to effectively adapt the model to the Greek context and ensure its added value for SMEs in the region.
PROACTsme aims to improve policy instruments that work towards improving e-Government capabilities, enabling proactiveness, and thus making public services ‘smarter’. The Project focuses on digital transformation to achieve a more personalized and proactive service, leveraging the potential of big data, automated administrative action, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
During its implementation, the Project will promote the exchange of experience, knowledge, and good practices among 5 EU regions with different stages of development. Special emphasis will be placed on data use and management, interoperability principles and the latest developments in data analysis such as forecasting business needs and promoting services “Just In Time”, creating public-private data sharing and business intelligence ecosystems.
