2nd meeting of the DESICE project partnership in Slovenia: Innovation, Collaboration & Circular Design

The 2nd meeting of the DESICE project partnership under the Interreg Europe programme, held in the magnificent Bled, Slovenia, on 28-29 January 2025, was a great success. ANATOLIKI S.A., as lead partner, was dynamically present with its representatives, Mrs. Iordanidou Eleni as project manager and Mrs. Balmadaki Stavroula, executive of Anatoliki S.A.

The two-day meeting was a focal point for the promotion of circular planning and the strengthening of cooperation between partners and specialized scientists. Participants exchanged knowledge, practices and experiences, actively contributing to the formulation of policies and strategies for the transition towards a sustainable and innovative future.

The first day of the meeting included presentations and analyses of the methods of collecting views, as well as examples of best practices. The discussion focused on innovative approaches that can be integrated into local and regional policies.

The day was concluded with a unique tour of picturesque Bled, where participants enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and authentic Slovenian cuisine, strengthening mutual relations and cooperation.

On the second day, the project partners carried out study visits to Ljubljana, where they had the opportunity to see circular design applications up close and to exchange ideas with local stakeholders. The day ended with a leisurely tour of the historic city centre and a dinner with traditional dishes, creating a climate of networking and cooperation between the partners.

The DESICE project aims to improve the implementation of regional and local policies in the field of circular economy, with a focus on strengthening the capacities of designers. It addresses the challenges faced by local governments in the transition to circular design, which include financial constraints, lack of staff and the need to integrate new technologies and business models.

Through DESICE, innovative strategies, good practices and new business models related to the circular design of products and services are highlighted. The strategic objective is to strengthen the Strategic Planning of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, positively influencing the development of sustainability policies.

After this inspiring and action-packed meeting, the project partners renewed their appointment for the next big event in the 3rd half of 2025, in Ghent, Belgium. There, the collaboration will be further strengthened, with the aim of sharing knowledge and further developing innovative solutions.

The DESICE project is co-funded by the INTERREG Europe Programme and has a total budget of €1,585,500. It has a duration of 48 months, until 31/03/2028.
