On Monday, January 12, 2026, the 6th Repair Café took place in the of the KYKLOS workshop space in Upper Town of Thessaloniki, with the participation of 14 students and 3 teachers from the 5th Evening Vocational High School of Thessaloniki. The goal of the workshop was to familiarize participants with the practice of repairing, help them acquire skills, and understand its importance for a more circular and sustainable way of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants began by getting to know the KYKLOS space and its circular practices, such as the library of things, the neighborhood composter, coffee residue recycling, and projects based on reuse. They then took part in an interactive presentation with a quiz, which demonstrated how the lack of repairing can impact the environment, health, and society. The discussion also covered the right to repair and relevant European legislation. Through the discussion, students shared personal experiences and realized that everyday skills they already possess, such as clothe repairing or performing minor home repairs, are valuable and should be further developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The practical part of the workshop involved applying clothing repair techniques with the guidance of an expert. Students with more advanced skills took on supportive roles, helping those with less experience and fostering the exchange of knowledge and know-how.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop concluded with positive feedback, with both students and teachers expressing a desire for similar educational programs to be held in the future under the Repair Café framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
