Maria Karagianni is a graduate of Anatolia College and holds a degree in Chemistry from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
For several years, she held a position at Piraeus Bank, and in recent years, she served as director in the Communication Department and the Business Loans sector.
She was involved in public affairs, and in the Municipal Elections of 2019, she was elected Municipal Councilor with the coalition of the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas.
From September 2019 to September 2020, she offered her services as a Special Advisor on Tourism and International Relations for the Municipality of Thessaloniki. From September 2020, she was appointed Vice Mayor of Thessaloniki and assumed the responsibilities of Deputy Mayor of Tourism and Culture for the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
She is the President of Major Development Agency Thessaloniki (MDAT S.A.), Vice President of Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Vice President of Organization for Infant, Child, and Family Care (O.BRE.P.O.M.), and a Member of the Board of Directors of DEP.THE (Municipal Corporation of Information, Broadcasting, and Communication).
Since June 2021, she has been a Member of the Board of Directors of ANATOLIKI S.A.
