
Iakovos Sarigiannis
Mechanical Engineer, General Director
Iakovos Sarigiannis was born and raised in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki.
He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In January 1985, he received his professional license from the Technical Chamber of Greece.
Between 1987 and 1990, he participated in training programs such as “Training of Local Government Executives” by the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government (EETAA) and “Training of Executives of Municipal Enterprises and Enterprises of Social Inclusion” by the European Institute of Management of Municipal Enterprises and Enterprises of Social Inclusion.
From 1987 to 1997, he served as the director of the Municipal Enterprise of Metal Constructions in Kalamaria. From 1997 to 2001, he was the General Manager and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Thessaloniki Urban Transport Organization. In 2010-2011, he held the position of Vice President of the Administrative Board of the “Agios Paulos” General Hospital.
Between 2001 and 2007 he was the manager of the support sector for Public and Private sector entities of the Organization for Local Development-ANATOLIKI S.A., while since 2008, he has been the General Manager.
He has participated in numerous European programs and projects as a project manager or team member, focusing on topics such as Waste Management, Energy, Sustainable Mobility, Sustainable Tourism, Operational Planning for Local Authorities, Entrepreneurship-Employment, Social Economy, Circular Economy, Rural Development, Innovation Promotion, and New Technologies.
He has also participated as a speaker in a plethora of conferences and workshops.
