Deputy Mayor of Administrative and Financial Services, Administrative Reform, Municipality of Pilea-Hortiatis

Despina Lypiridou was born, raised, and lives in Panorama, Thessaloniki. She studied at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and graduated in 1999. She holds a postgraduate degree from the Medical School of AUTh in the MSc “Contemporary Medical Acts: Legal Regulation and Bioethical Dimension”, and she is currently attending the School of Political, Economic, and Journalism Sciences of AUTh, following the MSc “Governance – Regional Development”.

Since 2001, she has been practicing law as a member of the Thessaloniki Bar Association, managing her own law office and specializing in litigation. She holds certification as a mediator from the Ministry of Justice and is listed in the general register, the family mediator register, and the land mediator register. Furthermore, she serves as a mediator trainer at the official ADR Hellenic Training Hub. Additionally, she is an active member of the Public Relations, Communication, and Social Awareness Committee of the Thessaloniki Bar Association. She played a pivotal role as a founding member and General Secretary of the Panhellenic Association of Land Mediators (PEKDM). During the period from 2016 to 2019, she held the position of President at the handball sports club “Athletic Association of Pontians PANORAMA” and currently serves as a member of the appeals committee of the Handball Association of Thessaloniki.

In 2019, she was elected Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Pilea-Hortiatis, and since then, she has been a member of the Municipality’s Economic Committee, President of the Foreign Affairs, Tourism, and Conventions Committee, and currently, Deputy Mayor of Administrative and Financial Services, Administrative Reform, and E-Governance of the Municipality.
