CESME + Local Support Group Meeting
The Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia on behalf of the Region of Central Macedonia and the Local Development Organization ANATOLIKI SA, on Thursday, March 10th, 2022, co-organized the 1st meeting of the Local Support Group (LSG) of CESME+ project with the topic “Additional activities of the CESME project, Circular Economy for the SMEs of RCM". The event was implemented online, through the zoom platform, in the context of the project "CESME - Circular Economy for SMEs", co-financed by the INTERREG EUROPE program.
During the 1st LSG meeting of CESME+ project, the participants were introduced to:
- The Additional Activities of the CESME project, which aim to improve the update of policy makers on circular economy, on more effective measures to strengthen SMEs and also to facilitate SMEs to adopt circular economy step by step. The additional activities will be implemented over a period of two semesters, ending in October 2022. At the core of the activities is the exchange of experiences, through the promotion of good practices and through meetings of partners and stakeholders.
- The new good practices of circular economy which combine 3 parameters: circular economy, SMEs and the recovery from the pandemic. In particular, 3 good practices identified in Central Macedonia Region were presented (1. Production of antiseptic rom confiscated ethyl alcohol / Laboratories of the Greek Army and pharmaceutical companies, 2. Use of winery by-products for the production of surface cleansers / Domaine Agrovision, 3. Food donation / Boroume) and one good practice of each of the other 3 project partner countries.
- The Covid Impact Assessment Report on circular economy actions implemented by SMEs. The evaluation report, for each of the 4 areas of the project, provides data for each area, records the effects of the pandemic on the economic and environmental sector, identifies the categories of companies that were somehow affected by the pandemic and reports the measures taken to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
